Lea Hunter is a Licensed Professional Counselor, with an array of experience working with children, adolescents, adults, and families. She is a member of the American Counseling Association and utilizes her training in systems theory to provide a holistic approach in counseling by embracing the belief that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts.” Every piece of a puzzle makes the whole picture, and if one piece is missing, the picture is incomplete. Lea is a native of Georgia where she graduated from Georgia Southern University with a Bachelor’s degree in psychology and Valdosta State University, with a Masters in Marriage and Family Therapy.
Lea has experiences working in community mental health as well as providing victim advocacy to those in women and children shelters. Her therapeutic interventions are eclectic with use of play/art therapy, cognitive-behavioral, solution focused, narrative, collaborative, and structure & strategic therapy. Lea moved to Nashville in the summer of 2002. In her spare time she writes music and participates in various venues for singers/songwriters in middle Tennessee. Her passion for music allows her to turn pain into healing art.
