Charles is an NCC Board Certified Licensed Professional Counselor and has experience working with adolescents and adults. His therapeutic approach is eclectic, utilizing a variety of interventions depending on the need and the individual. Charles obtained a Bachelors Degree in Psychology from the University of Pennsylvania and a Masters Degree in Counseling from Trevecca Nazarene University. In addition to formal education Charles brings extensive life experience to the therapeutic process. Born and raised in East TN, at age 15 he received an academic scholarship to a prestiguous college preparatory school in Massachusetts. He went on to attend college in Pennsylvania. After college Charles moved to Cleveland, OH where he spent 4 years in Marketing Research, for the Steel Industry. After this experience he came home to Tennessee and spent the next 20 years in Sales and Marketing for the Telecommunications Industry. For the last five years after going back to school for a Masters degree, Charles has worked in the Mental Health field, most recently as the Clinical Director for a Community Mental Health Agency. Through these diverse life experiences many valuable life lessons have been learned. One very important one is that even the most complex human interaction is still person to person. Therefore, meeting and accepting people where they are, is the first step in a successful therapeutic relationship.
